Create and assign resources 

Use this article to create a resource and assign it to your service to manage availability.

Before You Start:
  1. Resources must be linked to a service before they affect availability. 
  2. You can learn more about resources on - Understanding resources 

Step-by-step instructions:

  1. Go to Settings in the left-hand menu.
  2. Select Resources.
  3. Click + Add new.
  4. Enter the name of the resource, and optionally you can add a description or image.
  5. If you have more than one location, select the location(s) this resource belongs to.
  6. If you have more than one of these resource types, update the max capacity to the total number you have available.
  7. If you don't need to track capacity for this resource, deselect the Manage Capacity checkbox.
  8. 8. Click continue to set up the hours or availability.
  9. Determine how availability of the resource:
    - Standard Business Hours: It's available in your normal business hours.
    - Specific Hours: Set a weekly schedule of specific hours.

  10. You can adjust availability and block-out certain dates, or fine-tune availability from this menu.
  11. Click finish to save. 


To assign the resource:

  1. Go to Inventory > Services.
  2. Click the ••• menu next to the service and select Edit.
  3. Navigate to the Staff & Resources tab.
  4. Click + Assign Resource and select the resource(s) to link.

📝 Notes:
  1. If multiple services use the same resource, availability will be based on first-come-first-saved. 
  2. If the service requires both a staff & a resource, both must be available for the booking to proceed. 

Troubleshooting & FAQs

When should I use resources?
Use resources when assets are needed to complete a service, such as rooms, vehicles, or rental equipment.
Can I fine-tune resource availability?

Yes, use the Fine-Tune Hours feature in the Hours tab to adjust availability for specific dates.


How does resource capacity work?
Resource capacity determines the maximum number of people or items a resource can accommodate. In private group bookings, only one customer can book the resource, but they can select their group size.
Can I temporarily disable a resource?
Yes, tick "This resource is not active for online bookings" in the resource settings to prevent customers from selecting it.
