Nabooki glossary

This glossary covers the key terms you'll come across when using Nabooki. Use it as a quick reference whenever you need a reminder of what a feature is called or how it works.


A

  1. Agenda View
    A list-style calendar view that displays your upcoming bookings in chronological order, rather than the standard calendar grid layout.
  2. Availability
    The time periods when a service can be booked. Availability is determined by your schedules, staff assignments, and booking rules.

B

  1. Booking
    A reservation made by a customer for a service, class, or appointment — either through your booking tool or added manually through the calendar.
  2. Booking Capacity
    The minimum and maximum number of participants allowed in a session or schedule.
  3. Booking Confirmation
    A notification sent to your customers confirming their booking has been successfully completed.
  4. Booking Cut-off Time
    The minimum amount of time required before a session starts for customers to still be able to make a booking.
  5. Booking ID
    A unique reference number assigned to each booking.
  6. Booking Page
    Your external, public-facing website where customers can view and book your services. You can share it via your own website, social media, or email.
  7. Booking Request
    A booking that requires your manual approval before it becomes confirmed.
  8. Booking Request Automatic Cancellation Time Frame
    The amount of time a pending booking request can remain unapproved before Nabooki automatically cancels it.
  9. Booking Resolution
    The interval between available booking time slots — for example, every 15 or 30 minutes.
  10. Booking Time Frame
    The maximum period in advance that customers can make a booking.
  11. Booking Widget
    A standalone widget you can embed into your website, allowing customers to book a single product or service per transaction.
  12. Bookings Page
    The page inside Nabooki where you can view and manage customer bookings, including booking details, customer information, and booking status.


C

  1. Calendar
    The main scheduling interface you use to view and manage your bookings.
  2. Cancellation Policy
    Rules that define when customers can cancel or modify their bookings.
  3. Check-in
    A feature used to mark customers as having arrived for their booking.
  4. Check-in Kiosk
    A self-service interface that allows customers to check themselves in when they arrive.
  5. Custom Fields
    Additional fields you can add to your booking form to collect extra information from customers.
  6. Customer Portal
    A page where your customers can view and manage their bookings and passes.
  7. Customisation Page
    The settings page where you can adjust your booking page's branding, layout, colours, and images.

D

  1. Deposit
    A partial payment required at the time of booking to secure a reservation.

  1. Email Notifications
    Automated emails sent to customers and staff for confirmations, reminders, cancellations, and updates.

  1. Gift Voucher
    A prepaid voucher that customers can purchase and redeem for your services.
  2. Gift Voucher Configuration Page
    The settings page where you create and manage gift voucher products, including pricing, expiry rules, and voucher options.
  3. Gift Vouchers Page
    The page under Sales where you can view, manage, and track sold gift vouchers, including voucher codes, balances, and redemption history.
  4. Google Calendar
    A calendar platform you can integrate with Nabooki to sync bookings with personal or staff calendars.
  5. Google Calendar Sync
    An integration that automatically synchronises your Nabooki bookings with a connected Google Calendar.

I

  1. Integration
    A connection between Nabooki and an external platform that allows data to be shared automatically.
  2. Invoice
    A payment record generated for a booking, showing charges, payments, and outstanding balances.

M

  1. Manifest
    A downloadable report listing the customers booked into a specific schedule or session.
  2. Marketplace
    A Nabooki feature that displays multi-vendor services in an online directory. Also a menu item in Nabooki where you can configure your marketplace listing, including images and description.
  3. Mini-Website
    An external webpage generated by Nabooki that includes your booking widget and business details. Unlike your Booking Page, a Mini-Website cannot be integrated into your own website — it works as a standalone booking display.

  1. Online Widgets

  2. Order ID
  3. A unique reference number assigned to a transaction or purchase, such as a booking, voucher, or pass.
  4. Orders List Page
    The page where all your customer transactions and purchases are listed, including bookings, vouchers, passes, and other sales records.

P

  1. Passes
    A prepaid package that allows customers to book multiple sessions or services.
  2. Passes Page
    The page where you can view and manage customer passes and track remaining usage.
  3. Payment Gateway
    A service that processes online payments such as credit card transactions.
  4. Payment Page
    The page where you can view payment records, including completed payments, refunds, and payment details for bookings.
  5. POS (Point of Sale)
    A system used to process payments and sales in person.

  1. Recurring Schedule
    A schedule that automatically repeats based on a defined pattern, such as weekly or monthly.
  2. Reports Page
    A section where you can generate and download reports related to bookings, revenue, customers, and operational data.
  3. Reserve with Google
    A Google integration that allows customers to book your services directly through Google Search or Google Maps.
  4. Resources
    Equipment, rooms, or assets required to deliver a service.
  5. Reviews Widget
    A widget that displays customer reviews or testimonials on your website to build trust and encourage bookings.

  1. Schedule
    A specific date and time when a service is available for booking.
  2. Service
    An activity, appointment, or experience that customers can book with your business.
  3. Service Description Page
    A page displaying your service details, description, and booking options.
  4. Shopping Cart Booking Tool
    Allows customers to add multiple products and services to a cart before checking out on your booking page.
  5. Staff Assignment
    The process of linking staff members to services.
  6. Sub-service
    A variation of a service that may have different pricing, duration, or settings.

T

  1. Timeline View
    A horizontal calendar view that displays bookings along a timeline, making it easier to see overlapping schedules, staff availability, and booking durations at a glance.
  2. Timetable Widget
    A widget that displays your available schedules in a timetable format.

W

  1. Widgets
    Embeddable tools you can add to your website to give customers a specific way to interact with your business — such as leaving a review, purchasing a gift voucher, or making a booking.

Integrations

  1. Bókun
    A reservation and channel management system used by tour and activity operators to manage bookings and distribution.
  2. Campaign Monitor
    An email marketing platform for sending newsletters and campaigns to your customer lists.
  3. Rezdy
    A reservation and distribution platform used by tour and activity operators to manage bookings and connect with resellers.
  4. Zapier 
    An automation tool that connects Nabooki with thousands of other apps to automate your workflows.
  5. Zoom 
    A video conferencing platform you can use for online classes, consultations, or virtual sessions booked through Nabooki.

Payment gateways

  1. Braintree 
    A payment gateway owned by PayPal for accepting credit card payments and digital wallets online.
  2. eWAY
    A payment gateway commonly used in Australia for securely processing online credit card payments.
  3. Kovena
    A payment gateway used by tourism and hotelier businesses. 
  4. PayPal
    A digital payment platform allowing customers to pay using their PayPal account or linked cards.
  5. Square 
    A payment platform supporting both in-person and online payments, often used with POS devices.
  6. Stripe
    An online payment processor for accepting credit card payments directly through your booking page.
