How to Set Individual Service Schedule Start and End Dates


Some services only run for a specific period, such as seasonal activities, short-term courses, or limited-time events. In Nabooki, you can define start and end dates for a service to ensure it is only available for booking during the intended timeframe.

Additionally, you can set custom start and end dates for specific schedules within a service. This allows flexibility for businesses that need to adjust schedules for individual sessions without affecting the entire service.

This guide explains how to:
✅ Set a fixed start and end date for a service.
✅ Adjust individual schedules within a service.
✅ Hide expired schedules for better calendar management.


Method 1: Define Service Start and End Dates in the General Tab

1️⃣ Go to Inventory > Services.
2️⃣ Click on the
service name to open its settings.
3️⃣ Navigate to the
General tab.
4️⃣ Select
More details and scroll down to the Service Start & End Date section.
5️⃣ Select a
Start Date and an End Date (optional). If no End Date is set, the service will remain available indefinitely.
6️⃣ Click Update to save changes.

📌 Customers will not be able to book this service beyond the defined end date.



Method 2: Edit Individual Schedules in the Availability Tab

You have the flexibility to adjust the start and end dates for individual schedules without changing the overall service period (as shown above).

Steps to Edit an Individual Schedule

1️⃣ Go to Inventory > Services.
2️⃣ Click the
••• (three dots) button next to the service and select Edit.
3️⃣ Navigate to the
Availability tab.
4️⃣ Click on the specific
schedule you want to edit.
5️⃣ In the schedule editing window,
deselect the checkbox "Sync this schedule to the service start and end date."
6️⃣ Start and end date fields will now appear.
7️⃣ If you are unable to select an end date,
deselect the "None" checkbox to enable the field.
8️⃣ Adjust the start and end dates as needed, then
click Save.

Alert
Individual schedule start and end dates cannot extend beyond the overall service period defined in the General tab. Any dates falling outside the service’s duration will be automatically disabled to prevent scheduling conflicts.

Once you've customized a schedule's dates, these adjustments will be highlighted in orange on the schedule tile for easy recognition


Managing Expired Schedules

To keep the Availability tab uncluttered, Nabooki offers the option to Hide expired schedules.

1️⃣ In the Availability tab, locate the Hide expired schedules option.
2️⃣ Enable this feature to remove past schedules from the current planning view.
3️⃣ This helps focus on
upcoming and active schedules.


Restoring a Schedule to the Service’s Main Timeframe

If you need to revert an individual schedule back to the service’s overall start and end dates, follow these steps:

1️⃣ Go to Inventory > Services > Availability tab.
2️⃣ Select the schedule you previously customized.
3️⃣
Reselect the checkbox "Sync this schedule to the service start and end date."
4️⃣ The custom date fields will disappear, and the schedule will sync back to the main service dates.
5️⃣ Click
Save to apply changes.


Final Steps - Review

1️⃣ After making any changes, always press Update to save your settings.
2️⃣ Review your availability to ensure customers can only book within the correct timeframe.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

Why is my service no longer appearing in the booking widget?

Check if the end date has passed. If the service is still active but missing, confirm that:

  • Availability has been set correctly in the Availability tab.
  • The service is not marked as inactive in the General tab.
Can I extend a service’s availability after it has ended?

Yes, go to Inventory > Services, edit the service, and update the End Date.

Can I set different start and end dates for different schedules within a service?
Yes, individual schedules can have custom dates set in the Availability tab, but they cannot exceed the main service period.
What happens to existing bookings when the end date is reached?

Customers with existing bookings will not be affected, but new bookings will not be accepted beyond the end date.
