Using the timeline view

The timeline view gives you a horizontal, side-by-side display of all bookings across your staff and resources for a single day. It's the fastest way to spot gaps in your schedule, check availability at a glance, and make quick adjustments without leaving the calendar.

This article explains how the timeline view works and how to use it to manage your bookings.

What is the timeline view?

The timeline view is a calendar layout that displays bookings horizontally across a day, organised by staff member or resource. Unlike the standard calendar, which shows time slots in a vertical grid, the timeline view lets you see everyone's schedule side by side — making it easy to compare availability, catch conflicts, and move bookings around when things change.

It's particularly useful when you're managing multiple staff or resources and need a clear picture of how your day is structured.

Access the timeline view

  1. Go to Calendar in the left-hand menu.
  2. Click Timeline to switch to the timeline view.
  3. Use the date selector at the top of the page to navigate to the day you want to view.



Using the Timeline View

  1. Review the timeline to see all bookings laid out by staff member or resource.
  2. To move a booking, drag and drop it to a different staff member, resource, or time slot.
  3. To edit a booking, click on it to open the booking details — you can update the time, customer information, or other details from there.

💡 Tip: Use the timeline view at the start of the day to check for gaps or back-to-back bookings that might need adjusting before customers arrive.

Reassign bookings between staff or resources 

You can easily reassign bookings between staff or resources on the timeline view. 
  1. Click and hold the booking you want to move.
  2. Drag and drop the booking in the new slot for the staff or resource. 
  3. Follow the remaining customer notification prompts.
