How to Use Categories to Organise Services in Your Booking Widget


Categories allow you to group related services together, improving the customer experience by making it easier to navigate and select the right service. This feature is especially useful if you offer a large number of services and/or service types.


When categories are applied:
✅ Customers will first select a category in the booking widget
✅ The widget will expand to display all services within that category
✅ If a service has options (such as durations or price variations), these will also expand for selection

If you offer only a few services, categories are not required as all services will be displayed together.


Add a Category

1️⃣ Click Inventory from the left-hand menu.
2️⃣ Select Services.
3️⃣ Click the ••• (Action menu) next to a service and select Edit.
4️⃣ In the General tab, scroll down and click More details.
5️⃣ Under Category, click Add New Category.
6️⃣ Enter a Category Name (e.g., "Massage Treatments" or "Fitness Classes").
7️⃣ Click Update to apply the category.
🔁 Repeat these steps for any additional services.





Troubleshooting & FAQs

Can I assign a service to multiple categories?

No, each service can only belong to one category at a time.

What happens if I don’t assign any categories?

All services will be displayed in a single list without any grouping. If one or more categories are applied, any services without a category will be marked as 'Other'.

Can I rename or delete a category?
You can add a new category at any time if it needs to be renamed. If a category is deleted, services within that category will remain available but without grouping.
