Using Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second verification step when you log in to Nabooki, strengthening your account security and login method. This guide explains how 2FA works and walks you through enabling or disabling it.

What is two-factor authentication?

When 2FA is enabled, logging in requires two things: your password and a time-sensitive verification code generated by an authenticator app on your phone. Even if someone gets hold of your password, they can't access your account without also having access to your phone.

You can enable 2FA at any time from your account settings. Once set up, you'll be prompted to enter a verification code each time you log in.

Before you start

You'll need an authenticator app installed on your mobile device before you can set up 2FA. Common options include Google Authenticator, Duo-Mobile, OneAuth, Microsoft Authenticator, and Authy. If you don't have one installed, download one from your device's app store before continuing.

Step-by-step instructions:

  1. Log in to your Nabooki account.
  2. Click your profile icon in the top-right corner.
  3. Select Account Details from the dropdown menu.
  4. Go to the Two-Factor Authentication tab.
  5. Click Enable Two-Factor Authentication.
  6. Enter your password when prompted to confirm.
  7. Open your authenticator app and scan the QR code displayed on screen.
  8. Enter the 6-digit verification code generated by the app into the Nabooki verification field.
  9. Click Confirm to complete the setup.

Once 2FA is enabled, you'll need to enter a verification code from your authenticator app each time you log in.

📝 Note: To disable two-factor authentication (2FA), in the two-factor authentication settings, click disable. If you are disabling 2FA, make sure you have a strong unique password.

Save your recovery codes

When you complete setup, Nabooki provides a set of backup recovery codes. Keep these somewhere secure — you'll need them if you ever lose access to your authenticator app. Each recovery code can only be used once.

⚠️ Warning: Do not share your recovery codes with anyone. If you lose both your authenticator app and your recovery codes, you may be locked out of your account.
