Managing casual staff hours

Some businesses have casual or visiting staff who work on specific days rather than a regular weekly schedule.
This guide walks you through setting limited availability, through fine-tuning, so they only appear in your schedule when they're actually working.

Before You Start:
  1. Make sure you have created the staff using the guide - Creating staff and schedules. 

Step-by-step instructions:

  1. Go to Settings > Staff.
  2. Click the staff member's name to open their profile.
  3. Click the Hours tab.
  4. Set their default working hours to Closed.
  5. Use the Fine-Tune Hours feature to add the specific dates and times they're available.
  6. Click Update to save.



πŸ’‘Tip: You can also fine-tune staff hours directly from the calendar for quick, one-off adjustments without navigating to the staff profile.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

I can’t see the clock icon in the Calendar. How do I fix this?
Ensure that the staff member is selected in the Staff & Resources panel. The clock icon only appears when an individual staff member is selected.
Why is my casual staff member still unavailable for bookings?

Check that:

  • Fine-Tune Hours have been set for the correct dates and times.
  • The staff member is assigned to relevant service.
Can casual staff update their own availability?
Yes, if they have login access. You can provide staff with a login by following How to Provide Staff with Their Own Login Credentials.
