The Shopping Cart Booking Tool

The Shopping Cart Booking Tool

The Shopping Cart Booking Tool lets customers browse your services, add multiple items to a cart, and complete everything in a single checkout transaction. This article explains how it works, where to find it, and what to keep in mind during the current beta phase.

⚠️ Current limitations (Beta)

The Shopping Cart Booking Tool is currently in beta (released 26 May) and does not yet support the following:
  1. Booking requests — cart bookings are confirmed immediately, even if you have booking requests enabled.
  2. Waitlist services — all cart bookings are marked as confirmed; waitlist logic does not apply.
  3. Session-based services — bookings made via the cart will not be applied to customer passes.
  4. Service categories — categories are not displayed on the shopping cart page.

If your business relies on any of these features, we recommend waiting until a later phase of the beta before switching to the shopping cart.

How it works

When a customer adds a service to their cart, the system holds that availability for 10 minutes. If they don't complete their purchase within that window, availability is rechecked and the if the item has been booked by another customer, the item will show as unavailable and can no longer be booked.

Customers can add up to 10 services to their cart before proceeding to checkout, where all items are paid for in a single transaction.

Once checkout and payment (if required) are complete, an order is created. Each order is assigned a unique Order ID that links all the booked services together. Orders can be viewed from the Orders List page in Nabooki. Both the customer and your business will receive a confirmation email containing the Order ID and a booking summary.

Where to find it

The Shopping Cart Booking Tool uses a different URL from your standard Booking Page. If you're switching to the shopping cart, you'll need to update any existing links on your website.

To find your shopping cart URL:

  1. Go to Online Widgets > Booking Widget.
  2. Open the dropdown and select All Services Shopping Cart.
  3. Click Preview to review the page.
  4. Copy the URL and add it to your website — for example, as a "Book Now" button.

📝 Note: The shopping cart URL is separate from your Booking Page URL. Both can exist at the same time, but customers will only be directed to whichever one you link to.

The shopping cart page

Services appear in the same order as your Services page list. If you have multiple locations, the home page displays all services across all locations, with tabs to filter by individual location.

Customisation

Customisation options are limited in the current beta version.

Brand colours are managed through the Booking Widget customisation settings. Use the Primary Background Colour for your main brand colour — this applies to "Book Now" buttons, highlighted text, and selected options. The Secondary Background Colour is not used on the shopping cart page.

Your logo appears in the header and links back to your homepage. Your business name, cart icon, and customer account link appear in the top-right corner.

Service images are pulled directly from each service. We recommend using a unique image for each service when using the shopping cart — if no image is provided, a default image will display instead.

My cart view

Customers can view their cart at any time by clicking the cart icon in the top-right corner. This opens a summary of their selected services, where they can:

  1. Edit or remove individual services
  2. Clear the entire cart
  3. Continue shopping
  4. Proceed to checkout

The booking tool

The shopping cart uses an updated booking tool with a cleaner design, optimised for the cart experience.

If your services include staff or resource selection, service options, pricing categories, or other variations, these will also appear within the new booking tool.

Old Booking Tool vs New Booking Tool

Checkout Page

The checkout page is divided into four sections:

  1. Booking details — collects the customer's name, email, mobile number, any "all services" custom fields, and an optional comments field.
  2. Service-specific custom fields — if individual services have their own custom fields, each is listed as a separate section. Fields that apply to all services appear under Booking Details.
  3. Payment details — displays if a payment gateway is connected, prompting the customer to enter their card details.
  4. Order summary — shows all services in the cart. Customers can edit or remove items, continue shopping, or confirm and pay.

If partial pre-payment is required, the order summary will show a payable now amount for the upfront payment. If no payment is required, the button will display as Confirm booking rather than prompting for payment.

After a successful checkout, customers see an order confirmation page with their Order ID and a booking summary. A confirmation email is sent automatically.
