How to connect your Nabooki services to OTAs via Bókun

Once your Nabooki account is connected to Bókun, you can list your services on major Online Travel Agencies (OTAs) such as Viator, GetYourGuide and Airbnb.

This article walks you through how to connect your Bókun products with supported OTAs so your availability is synced and bookings flow directly into your Nabooki calendar.

📌 Before You Start

Make sure you’ve already integrated your Nabooki account with Bókun.
See: How to integrate Bókun

You will need:

  • An existing account with each OTA you want to connect to

  • Your services created in Bókun (either imported or mapped from Nabooki)

  • A schedule or availability applied to each service in Bókun

IdeaTip: We recommend starting with just one or two OTAs first. Once you're confident everything is syncing correctly, you can connect to additional channels later.

Step 1: Find an OTA to connect

1️⃣ In Bókun, go to Sales tools > OTAs
2️⃣ Browse the list of available OTA channels such as Viator, GetYourGuide, Airbnb, Klook and more
3️⃣ Click Connect now on the OTA you want to set up

The connection process will vary depending on the OTA. Some allow you to connect instantly by logging in, while others require you to send a proposal and wait for approval.

IdeaTip: If you're new to OTAs, we recommend starting with one or two first. This gives you time to review how listings appear, make sure your setup is working correctly before adding more channels and the commercial model compliments your business operations.

AlertSome OTAs may require manual approval or contract acceptance before your product is published. You'll see a Contract pending status in Bókun until the connection is active.

Step 2: Complete the connection process

When you click Connect now for an OTA, the next steps depend on how that OTA handles integration. Some OTAs use a direct login process, while others require you to submit a contract proposal.

Direct login integrations

Many larger OTAs require you to sign up and create an account on their platforms, you can do this by following the link in the instructions of each OTA in the Bókun Marketplace. Once approved by the OTA, you can add your products onto their platform and connect them back to Bókun straight away.

InfoOnce connected, the status will update to Connected in your OTAs list.

Once your connection is active, you’ll need to confirm which experiences should be listed on the OTA.
For Viator, GetYourGuide and Airbnb:
1️⃣ Go to Sales tools > OTAs
2️⃣ Find the OTA you've connected and click Manage
3️⃣ Select the experiences you want to make available
4️⃣ Review the details and click Update

OTAs requiring a contract proposal

Smaller OTAs and resellers on Bókun are handled through a contract process in the Bókun Marketplace. You can click Create a proposal, where you’ll be taken to the contract proposal screen.

Here’s what you need to do:

1️⃣ Review the contract details, including:

  • Commission rate (sometimes pre-set by the OTA, sometimes editable)

  • Cancellation policy

  • Payment terms

2️⃣ Select which of your Bókun experiences to include in the contract
3️⃣ Submit the proposal

Once submitted, the reseller will review your request. You’ll receive a notification when the contract is approved, and the connection status will change from Contract Pending to Connected.

You can check the status of your contract at any time via Contracts > Marketplace.

You will select the experiences you want to offer, or you can select all, during the contract proposal stage. These will be connected once the contract is approved by the OTA.
To add or remove experiences later:
1️⃣ Go to Contracts > Marketplace
2️⃣ Click on the contract for the relevant OTA
3️⃣Edit the contract to include or exclude experiences
4️⃣Submit the changes for approval

Bookings for assigned experiences will flow directly into your Nabooki calendar once live.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

Why isn’t my experience showing on the OTA?
Check that your experience has been assigned to the OTA in Bókun, with correct pricing, start times and availability. For Marketplace OTAs, the contract must be approved before the listing appears.
Do I need to have an account with each OTA before connecting?
Yes. You'll need an active account with each OTA you plan to connect to. Some OTAs allow you to create a new account during the connection process (e.g. Viator), but most require one to exist beforehand.
How do I know if my OTA connection is active?
Go to Sales tools > OTAs in Bókun. If the status shows as "Active", the connection is live. For Marketplace OTAs, you can also check Contracts > Marketplace.
Can I connect to multiple OTAs at the same time?
Yes. You can connect your Bókun account to multiple OTAs and distribute the same experiences across all supported channels.
How long does it take to get approved by a Marketplace OTA?
It depends on the OTA. Some respond within a few business days, while others may take longer depending on their internal review process.
Can I edit a contract after it’s been approved?
Yes. You can add or remove experiences, or update terms such as commission or cancellation policy by editing the contract in Bókun. Any changes must be submitted for approval again.
What happens if I change my product details in Nabooki or Bókun?
Changing key details like product name, pricing or duration in Bókun can break the connection with some OTAs.
See: Avoid OTA disconnection when making changes to your products.
Do bookings from OTAs sync automatically with my Nabooki calendar?
Yes. Once your experience is connected and active, bookings made through the OTA will sync into your Nabooki calendar automatically.
Can I disconnect from an OTA later if I no longer want to offer my experiences there?

Yes. You can remove experiences from a contract or disconnect from the OTA via Bókun. Just keep in mind that future bookings may still need to be honoured depending on your cancellation policy.

What if I already list my experiences directly on an OTA?
If you already have listings on an OTA (e.g. Viator or GetYourGuide), connecting through Bókun will allow you to sync availability and receive bookings directly into Nabooki. Check the OTA's Bókun setup guide for specific instructions to avoid duplicate listings.
