How to Offer a Service for a Limited Time Period Only

How to Offer a Service for a Limited Time Period Only

Limiting the availability of a service is useful for:

  • Seasonal offerings (e.g., winter tours, holiday promotions).
  • One-time events or workshops (e.g., a photography masterclass or special retreat).
  • Trial or promotional services (e.g., introductory offers for new customers).
  • Short-term service adjustments (e.g., pop-up locations or temporary schedule changes).

By defining a start and end date for a service, you control when it appears on the booking widget and ensure bookings are only accepted within the intended timeframe.

Step 1: Access the Service Settings

1️⃣ Click Inventory from the left-hand menu.
2️⃣ Select Services and locate the service you want to modify.
3️⃣ Click the Action menu (•••) > Edit to open the service settings.

Step 2: Set the Service Availability Dates

1️⃣ In the General tab, locate the More Details section (this changes to "Less Details" when expanded).
2️⃣ Click to expand this section.
3️⃣ Under Service Period, define:

  • Start Date – The first day the service should be available for booking.
  • End Date – The last day the service should be available.

📌 Default Settings:

  1. By default, the start date is set to "today," and no end date is applied.
  2. If no end date is set, the service remains available indefinitely.
  3. If a service is created and set to "not visible," it will not appear on the all services booking widget. When visible, the earliest bookable date will be the defined start date, provided there is availability.
4️⃣ Click Update to save the changes.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

Can I change the start or end date after customers have booked?
Yes, but existing bookings will remain unchanged. If you shorten the service period, ensure no bookings exist beyond the new end date.
What happens if I don’t set an end date?

The service remains bookable indefinitely. You can add an end date later if needed.

Can I temporarily hide the service and make it visible later?
Yes, you can toggle the Invisible Online setting in the General tab > Advanced Settings at any time.
Does setting a service for a limited time affect my availability settings?
No, service dates only determine when customers can book. Availability depends on assigned staff and resource schedules.
