Understanding Promotions

Promotions let you offer discounted or special versions of your existing services — without changing the original service setup. Use them to highlight specific sessions, fill quieter time slots, or target particular customer groups.

How It Works

A promotion is based on an existing service or another promotion. When you create one, it inherits the details of the main source — such as duration, booking rules, and schedules — but lets you adjust the title, price, and availability to suit the offer.

Promotions appear in their own booking widget, separate from your main service. This means customers browsing your standard services won't see your promotions unless you point them to the promotion widget directly.

Benefits

  1. Target specific time slots — run promotions for quieter periods without affecting your standard availability.
  2. Keep your main service clean — changes to a promotion don't alter the original service.
  3. Embed anywhere — the promotion widget can be added to your website independently of your main booking widget.
  4. Control visibility — set up the promotion fully before making it live.

Where to Find It

You'll find Promotions under Inventory > Internal Promotions in your Nabooki dashboard.

Key Concepts & Configurations

Base service or promotion

The source a promotion is built on. By default, new promotions are set to inherit from an existing service or promotion. You can deselect this option to build a promotion from scratch — useful for one-off events or special services not based on anything already in your inventory.

Select source

The dropdown used to choose whether your promotion is based on an existing service or an existing promotion.

Availability

Promotions inherit schedules from the source, but you can use the Availability tab to limit which schedules are included in the promotion offer.

Visibility

By default, a new promotion is set to Not visible online. This lets you complete your setup before customers can see it. When you're ready to go live, deselect this option on the General tab.

Promotion widget

Each promotion has its own booking widget that can be embedded on your website. You'll find the installation instructions under the Booking Preferences tab of the promotion.

Manual bookings

If you're adding a booking manually via the Calendar, select Promotional Booking in the booking type tab — not the default Booking option — to correctly link it to the promotion.

📝 Note Promotions are separate from discount codes or coupon-based offers. They are distinct service listings with their own widget and availability settings.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

Can I create a promotion without affecting the original service?

Yes. Promotions are independent and do not change your original service’s availability or settings. However, if the promotion is "based-off" a multiple booking service with capacity, the capacity of regular plus promtional bookings will not exceed this capacity.

This also allows a class fo say 10 to be limited to only 2 promotions per class if you wish.

Can I create multiple promotions from one service?

Yes. You can create as many promotions as needed, each with its own title, pricing and availability. You can use these for various marketing campaigns or target customers.

Do promotions show in a separate booking widget?

Yes. This helps customers easily find and book special offers.

If you are interested in offer a promotion that all customers can easily take advantage off, such as a "10% off Summer Special" you can utilise the Promo Codes feature instead. Learn more here 👉 How to Create and Use Promo Codes for Discounts and Specials
