Gift vouchers let you offer customers a flexible way to purchase your services as gifts. This article explains how to create, configure, and manage gift vouchers in Nabooki so customers can buy them online and redeem them during booking.
Enable Gift Vouchers
1️⃣ Using the left navigation menu, go to Inventory > Gift Vouchers.
2️⃣ Enable gift vouchers by toggling the switch to On.
3️⃣ Configure default settings in the fields provided.
Minimum Amount and Maximum Account - You can set a price range or fixed price here
Expiration – The validity of the voucher from the time of purchase
Booking URL – This is optional but it will be handy if you provide multiple Gift Voucher as your customer can get the actual link of the service bookable for the Gift Voucher they purchased.
In the purchase confirmation, there will be a QR code or a link to your booking tool.
4️⃣ Click Update to save.

Manual Creation of Gift Vouchers
As a merchant, you have the option to manually create gift vouchers on behalf of customers. This is useful for phone orders, in-person sales, or special cases where customers prefer not to purchase online. Manually created vouchers can be customised with recipient details, amounts, and expiry dates to suit your business needs.
1️⃣ Navigate to Sales > Gift Vouchers.
2️⃣ Select + Add new.
3️⃣ Enter details in the fields displayed in sidebard, including recipient information, amount, and expiry.
4️⃣ Click Create to generate the voucher.
Accessing the Gift Voucher Widget Page
To sell gift vouchers directly on your website, you can use the Gift Voucher widget. This widget provides a ready-made page where customers can easily purchase vouchers online.
Before using the widget, make sure your Online Payment Gateway is enabled and fully set up to accept payments.
To access and embed the Gift Voucher widget:
1️⃣ Go to Online Widgets in the left navigation menu.
2️⃣ Select Gift Voucher Widget from the widget type dropdown menu.
3️⃣ Click the Preview button to see how the widget will appear to customers.
4️⃣ On the same page, copy the iFrame code provided.
5️⃣ Paste this iFrame code into a dedicated page on your website where you want customers to purchase gift vouchers.
Embedding the widget on a dedicated webpage lets customers easily browse, select, and buy gift vouchers without leaving your site.
How to Buy Gift Vouchers
Your customer will need to go to the link on the page where you embed the Gift Voucher iFrame code. This will depend on how you advertise your gift vouchers and could be via email, text or on your Facebook page.

How to Redeem a Gift Voucher
Once the gift recipient has received the voucher code, they will be able to redeem the code on the checkout page when making a booking in the field provided as shown below.
The customer who has purchased the Gift Voucher will receive an email with a link to download the voucher. This link could be emailed to the recipient or the customer could choose to print the voucher and distribute to the recipient.
To apply the gift voucher code on the checkout page, the Voucher / Promo Code is utilised.
Please Note: Only one gift voucher code is allowed per transaction.
Managing Purchased Gift Vouchers
1️⃣ Go to Sales > Gift Vouchers.
2️⃣ View voucher status, redemption history, and expiry.
3️⃣ Manage refunds or re-issues as needed.
Viewing the Purchased Gift Vouchers
This page will display the Code, Purchaser's name, Amount, Status (Active/Redeemed/Expired).
You can also click "View" for more details.
Ability to edit the Expiry Date
Click View, and click the “Edit” button just beside the Expiry Date (please see photo below).


View Customer Booking
If the gift voucher has been redeemed, the button “View Booking” will be displayed, which will redirect you to the Calendar to view the Booking Ticket of the customer.

Yes, as a merchant you can manually create gift vouchers through the Sales > Gift Vouchers section. This is helpful for processing phone orders, walk-in customers, or handling special requests. You can customise details such as the recipient’s name, voucher amount, and expiry date.
Customers can purchase gift vouchers through your website by using the Gift Voucher widget or via your integrated booking widget, which will display once configured.
Once purchased, customers will receive a confirmation email containing their unique voucher code and redemption instructions.
Customers redeem vouchers by entering the unique voucher code during the standard booking process. The system will automatically apply the voucher credit to their booking total. If the voucher value exceeds the booking price, the remaining balance stays available for future use until fully redeemed or expired.
Yes, gift vouchers can be set to expire based on the expiry period configured in Settings > Gift Vouchers. Once expired, vouchers cannot be redeemed, so it's important to communicate the expiry terms clearly to customers.
Email notifications for Gift Vouchers are sent only to the email address configured in your Nabooki account settings and the customer.
